German Ambassador Christian Schlaga and Gerard Vries, Director of the Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture, presented two new classrooms at the Auas Primary School in Katutura/Windhoek today. The Governor of Khomas Region, Laura McLeod-Katjirua, was present as well. The German Embassy Windhoek supported the construction with N$ 320,000.00 (23,663.00 €).

Improvement of learning environment

The extension is one step further on the way to a smooth school operation: since many years, the students are taught alternatively in the mornings and afternoons due to a lack of classrooms. Two pre-school classes can study now exclusively in the mornings where experience has shown that concentration is at its best. The improved learning environment should help students to successfully start their school career in elementary school.
