The competiton

The Deutsche Höhere Privatschule (DHPS) and the German Embassy Windhoek are launching a #GermanIsFun photo competition! If you have an idea related to #GermanIsFun, take a picture, post it on your Instagram, Facebook and Twitter account and stand a chance of winning awesome prizes and merchandise.

The announcement of the winners will take place on 18 June 2021 online on the facebook channels of the German Embassy and the DHPS, entries are open until 17 June 2021.

How to take part

Instagram

• Upload your pic to your own Instagram account, tag us at @GermanyinNAM and use the hashtag #GermanIsFun

The participant agrees that his picture might be featured on the Federal Foreign Office and the DHPS social media channels.

Facebook

• Take a photograph with the topic #GermanIsFun
• Like our Facebook pages @GermanEmbassyWindhoek and @DHPSWindhoek
• Post the pic on your Facebook page, tag us at @GermanEmbassyWindhoek and use the hashtag #GermanIsFun

The best pics will be shared as an album on our social media pages. The participant agrees that his picture might be featured on the Foreign Office’s and DHPS social media channels.

Terms and conditions

The photo competition is open to the general public. Employees of the German Embassy and DHPS as well as their immediate families, are welcome to take part, but are not eligible for any of the prizes. This explicitly excludes students studying at the DHPS.

Administrator

The Administrator of this competition is the German Embassy Windhoek (called “The Administrator” in the following), 145 Independence Avenue, Sanlam Building, 6th floor, Windhoek, Namibia.

Any individual who enters the competition needs to follow/like the respective social media channel and post the picture with the following information:

The participant agrees that his picture might be featured on the Foreign Office’s and DHPS social media channels. Multiple entries allowed.

Administrator reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify and individual that tampers or attempts to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the contest; violates the official rules; or acts in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with the intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. By entering, entrant accepts and agrees to be bound by these official rules and the decisions of the judges.

Administrator reserves the right to any final decision with regard to contest rules and rule changes, and to the prizes awarded to the winners. Prizes may not be endorsed, transferred, substituted or redeemed for cash, except at the Administrators sole discretion. Specifics of the prizes are subject to change in Administrators sole discretion. Administrator reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the awarded prize is unavailable for any reason.

Please be aware that the prizes can only be claimed at the German Embassy Windhoek and cannot be sent via mail.

Winner Selection

Each entrant must comply with all terms and conditions set forth in these Rules, winning is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements. A winner will be selected from all eligible entries received. Decisions are final and binding in all matters related to the selection.

Administrator assumes no responsibility/liability for damages, losses or injury resulting from acceptance or use of the prize.

In the event that the winner is unable to comply with the terms and conditions set forth in these Official Rules, the German Embassy Windhoek reserves the right to deem such individual ineligible and to select a new winner from among the remaining entries.

Notification

Winners will be notified through the respective social media account they used to post the pictures, however if there is no response within a week of notification, the entry will be considered invalid and another participants will be chosen according to a ranking.

General Rules

Administrator is not responsible for technical, hardware or software malfunctions, telephone failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incorrect, inaccurate, incomplete, garbled or delayed electronic communications whether caused by the sender or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in this vote which may limit the ability to participate or by any human error which may occur in the processing of the entries in this contest. Administrator reserves the right to cancel the promotion if it becomes technically corrupted, and award prizes from eligible entries received prior to cancellation. By entering, entrants agree that all issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these official rules, entrants right and obligations, or the rights and obligations of the Administrator in connection with the contest, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of Namibia, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules. Administrator does not submit to the jurisdiction of a Namibian court, and does not waive its sovereign immunity by entering into this Agreement or submitting to a dispute resolution mechanism.

CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY A CONTESTANT TO DELIBERATLY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE/SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNT OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS, AND, SHOLD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, ADMINISTRATOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH CONTESTANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

Privacy Notice

Administrator reserves the right to remove any entrant from the competition not complying with these terms without prior notice. Administrator values the privacy of entrants and will use entrant data only for the purposes described above. In particular, Administrator will not pass on the data to third parties.

Winners

The name of the prize winners will be published on the German Embassy Windhoek’s website and Social Media Accounts of the German Embassy Windhoek and the DHPS.

Any recourse to courts of law excluded.
