German Government provides drought relief to Namibia (19 Mio. NAD)

The German government will provide as part as part of the development cooperation between Germany and Namibia, drought relief for the Namibian population via its project “Competitive and climate-resilient agricultural and food industry” programme. Germany will provide 19 Mio. NAD (one million euros) for this project until September 2025. The aim is to support Namibian food producers to adapt to climate change, which is already clearly noticeable in Namibia, especially through the increase in droughts. Effective and resource-saving water management is therefore one of the core aspects of the programme. This German financial support will be in addition to the ongoing drought aid provided by the Namibian government.
