Welcome
Career Fair 2026
DHPS, Goethe-Institut Namibia, PASCH and German Embassy Present Career Fair 2026 – Shaping Future Opportunities for Young People in Namibia
For the second year in a row, the Deutsche Höhere Privatschule Windhoek (DHPS), the Goethe-Institut Namibia and the PASCH network are joining forces to host Career Fair 2026 – a free education and career fair offering young people in Namibia precise opportunities for their future.
The fair opens at the DHPS campus in Windhoek from 26 to 28 February 2026, followed by a roadshow at three PASCH schools across the country:
- 2 March – Otjiwarongo Secondary School
- 3 March – Etosha Secondary School, Tsumeb
- 5 March – Privatschule Swakopmund, Swakopmund
The German Embassy Windhoek supports the Career Fair by providing on-site information and consultation on the legal requirements (e. g. visa) necessary to study and work in Germany in Windhoek and Swakopmund.
Nearly 50 Exhibitors from Namibia, South Africa and Germany
From humble beginnings with just a dozen participants, the Career Fair has grown into one of Namibia’s largest and most interactive education and career orientation events. Around 50 companies, universities and organisations from Germany, South Africa and Namibia will participate, either in person or digitally.
Career Fair 2026 promises to be the most information-rich edition yet – cross-industry, international and practice-oriented.
A Place for Future-Shaped Decisions
Every year, thousands of young people face a key question: Which career path is right for me? And this is exactly where the Career Fair comes in.
Jörg Przybilla, Principal of DHPS, underlines the value of personal contact: “Speaking directly with professionals – asking questions, learning about requirements, salaries and career paths – helps young people gain a much clearer picture of their future.”
Matthias Mühr, Vice Director of the Goethe-Institut Namibia, highlights the unique international perspective: “We aim to open up new horizons for young people – not only in Namibia but also through dual education opportunities in Germany. German is a key that opens doors.”
“German is a Plus” – Language Skills as a Career Advantage
German as a foreign language is gaining importance in Namibia. Many exhibitors emphasize that knowledge of German is a clear advantage, both internationally across the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) and locally in tourism and industry.
The Career Fair shows visitors how to acquire or improve these skills, with organisers providing insights at their own stands – e.g. from the DHPS Kinder Campus to the German International Abitur and through Goethe-Institut language courses.
Encounters You Can’t Find Online
Whether it’s training, studies, internships, or career changes, the fair offers hands-on information, direct interaction and personal insights that no website can match.
“No matter what interests the young people bring, they leave with new ideas and valuable input. Personal contact is something no social media channel can replace,” emphasises Tina Crüys, responsible for Public Relations and Marketing at DHPS.
