You can apply for a certificate of conduct (Führungszeugnis) through the Federal Office of Justice in Germany.

Online Application

You can conveniently apply for the certificate online from home using your German ID card and the associated PIN without needing to visit the Embassy! More details can be found here: „Applying for a certificate of conduct from abroad“.

Please note that the German Embassy cannot answer further questions regarding the online application—direct any inquiries to the Federal Office of Justice.

Alternative to Online Application

If you prefer to apply for the certificate in paper form, an official verification of your personal data and signature on the application is required. Information and the application form can be found on the website of the Federal Office of Justice.

The official certfication can be done by:

• a German mission abroad (e.g., the German Embassy in Windhoek),
• a foreign authority (e.g., the Namibian police), or
• a notary.
